Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women
Your Journey to Recovery Doesn't Mean Leaving Your Baby Behind
At Ibis Healthcare's Family Treatment Services (FTS), we believe that a mother's love is the most powerful force in recovery. Our revolutionary program is built on a simple but profound truth: you shouldn't have to choose between getting the help you need and staying with your baby.
As the Tampa Bay area's only residential treatment program where mothers and babies heal together, we're rewriting the story of recovery for women like you. This isn't just a transformation. It's the chance to become the mother you've always dreamed of being, while your baby grows up knowing they were never abandoned, never separated from the person who loves them most.
What Makes This Program Unique
As the only residential facility in Hillsborough County where mothers and babies can stay together during substance abuse treatment, our Family Treatment Services program fills a critical gap in care. This is one of only a few programs across Florida offering this family-centered approach providing SAMHSA-funded, evidence-based treatment that keeps families together during recovery.
Our comprehensive six-month program ensures sustainable recovery and healthy mother-infant bonding. Infants under 12 months can live with their mothers throughout the entire treatment process, while our holistic approach extends support to partners, family members, and broader support systems.
Who We Serve
We primarily serve adult women who are pregnant or new mothers with infants under 12 months of age who have severe substance use disorders requiring residential care. Our program welcomes families seeking comprehensive, trauma-informed treatment and extends support services to partners, spouses, family members, and other children when appropriate.
Our Treatment Approach
Our evidence-based therapeutic services center on trauma-informed care, recognizing that specialized treatment addressing underlying trauma often contributes to lasting recovery from substance use. We provide medication-assisted treatment when clinically appropriate for optimal maternal and infant health, combined with individual counseling that addresses addiction, mental health, and parenting concerns. Group therapy creates peer support connections with other mothers in recovery, while family therapy focuses on healing relationships and building healthy family dynamics.
For expectant and new mothers, we coordinate comprehensive prenatal care throughout pregnancy and provide specialized postpartum support during the critical period when relapse risk is highest. Our parenting education includes skills training for healthy child development and bonding, with lactation support available for mothers choosing to breastfeed during recovery.
Recovery support services encompass life skills training for independent living and successful reintegration and vocational training programs, mental health services for co-occurring disorders, and comprehensive case management that coordinates medical, social, and recovery services.
Program Overview
Ibis Healthcare's Family Treatment Services (FTS) offers the Tampa Bay area's only residential treatment program where pregnant women and new mothers with severe substance use disorders can receive comprehensive care while keeping their babies with them. This groundbreaking six-month program is one of only a few facilities across Florida that allows infants under 12 months to reside with their mothers during treatment.
Program Benefits
For Mothers: Our program allows uninterrupted bonding with your infant while receiving comprehensive treatment that addresses substance use, mental health, and parenting needs simultaneously. The extended six-month duration provides time for deep therapeutic work and sustainable change, with specialized trauma-informed care addressing the root causes of addiction.
For Families: We preserve family unity during the most vulnerable time while including partners and family members in the recovery process. This approach ensures child safety while supporting family preservation and builds a foundation for lasting recovery and healthy family functioning.
For Babies: Infants remain with their mothers during the critical early development period, avoiding disruption of the primary caregiver relationship. Our safe, supervised setting supports infant wellbeing while providing access to specialized care for any withdrawal-related needs.
