Comprehensive Mental Health Services

Mental health treatment isn't one-size-fits-all. That's why we offer a full range of outpatient services designed to address your unique needs, goals, and circumstances. Our integrated approach means you can access multiple types of support in one place, from the same caring team who knows your story.

Individual Therapy

One-on-one therapy provides a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a licensed therapist who truly listens. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or life transitions, individual therapy helps you understand yourself better, develop healthy coping strategies, and create the life you want to live.

Our therapists specialize in:

  • Anxiety and panic disorders
  • Depression and mood disorders
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Life transitions (job changes, divorce, parenting challenges)
  • Stress management
  • Self-esteem and identity issues
  • Anger management
  • Coping with chronic illness

We use evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. Your therapist will work collaboratively with you to create a treatment plan that feels right for you.

Family Therapy

Family relationships can be complicated. When communication breaks down, conflicts escalate, or major life changes strain family bonds, family therapy provides a structured, supportive environment where everyone can be heard.

Our family therapists help families:

  • Improve communication and understanding
  • Navigate major life transitions (divorce, blended families, loss)
  • Address behavioral concerns with children and teens
  • Heal from trauma that affects the whole family
  • Strengthen relationships and rebuild trust
  • Develop healthier patterns of interaction

Family therapy isn't about assigning blame it's about working together to create positive change that benefits everyone.

Psychiatric Services and Medication Management

Sometimes therapy alone isn't enough. When medication can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life, our psychiatric team is here to provide expert, compassionate care. Our board-certified psychiatric providers conduct thorough evaluations, prescribe medications when appropriate, and provide ongoing medication management to ensure your treatment is safe and effective.

Psychiatric services include:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
  • Medication management for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other conditions
  • Regular follow-up appointments to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed
  • Coordination with your therapist for integrated care

We take the time to listen to your concerns about medication, explain treatment options clearly, and involve you in every decision about your care. If side effects occur or medication isn't working as expected, we'll work with you to find solutions. Our on-site Pharmacy Services make it convenient to fill prescriptions and receive medication counseling all in one place.

Long-Acting Injectable (LAI) Medication Clinic

A specialized service that sets us apart.

Ibis Healthcare was one of the first providers in Florida to offer Long-Acting Injectable (LAI) medications for mental health treatment. We're proud to continue this specialized service today. LAI’s provide a convenient, effective alternative to daily oral medications for individuals managing schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other serious mental health conditions.

What are Long-Acting Injectables? Long-acting injectables are medications administered through injection that release slowly into your bloodstream over time. Instead of taking a daily pill, one injection can last anywhere from two weeks to several months, depending on the specific medication. This sustained release helps maintain stable medication levels in your body, leading to better symptom control and improved quality of life.

Benefits of LAI Medications:

  • Convenience: No need to remember daily medications—one injection covers weeks or months
  • Consistent symptom management: Steady medication levels prevent the ups and downs that can occur with daily pills
  • Improved adherence: Healthcare professionals administer the medication, ensuring you stay on track with treatment
  • Reduced hospitalizations: Research shows LAIs can help prevent relapse and reduce hospital admissions
  • Quick, easy appointments: Get in and out in about 15 minutes

Our LAI Clinic Offers:

  • Quick, convenient appointments with experienced nurses
  • Multiple LAI medication options to find what works best for you
  • Comfortable, private administration in a supportive environment
  • Coordination with your psychiatrist and therapist for integrated care

Appointment Information:

  • Location: Seminole Heights 5707 N. 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33610
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Appointment length: Typically less than 15 minutes
  • Schedule: Call 813-384-4000

Most patients begin LAI treatment after their symptoms have responded well to the oral form of the same medication. Your psychiatrist will determine if LAI medications are right for you and which formulation best meets your needs.

Group Therapy

There's healing power in knowing you're not alone. Group therapy brings together people facing similar challenges in a supportive, structured environment led by experienced therapists. Groups provide opportunities to share experiences, learn from others, gain new perspectives, and practice skills in a safe setting.

Available groups may include:

  • Anxiety and depression support
  • Grief and loss
  • Anger management
  • Life skills and coping strategies
  • Trauma recovery
  • DBT

Group schedules vary. Contact us to learn about current group offerings and find one that fits your needs.

Therapy for Children and Adolescents

Supporting young people through life's challenges.

Mental health struggles don't wait until adulthood, and neither should treatment. Our child and adolescent therapy services provide age-appropriate, compassionate support for young people navigating emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. We understand that therapy looks different for kids and teens and we meet them where they are.

How therapy for young people is different: Children and adolescents process emotions, express themselves, and engage with therapy differently than adults. Our therapists are specially trained to work with young people using developmentally appropriate approaches that might include play therapy, art therapy, interactive activities, and age-appropriate talk therapy. We create a safe, comfortable environment where kids feel heard, not judged.

We help children and teens with:

  • Anxiety and worry
  • Depression and sadness
  • ADHD and attention challenges
  • Behavioral concerns
  • Trauma and adverse experiences
  • Grief and loss
  • School-related stress and refusal
  • Social difficulties and peer relationships
  • Family conflict and adjustment issues
  • Self-esteem and identity concerns
  • Anger management
  • Coping with divorce or family changes
  • Life transitions (new school, moving, etc.)

Family involvement: Parents and caregivers are essential partners in a child's mental health treatment. We work collaboratively with families, providing parent education, family therapy sessions when appropriate, and regular communication about progress and strategies you can use at home. Our goal is to empower both young people and their families with skills and support that extend beyond the therapy room.

School coordination: With your permission, we can coordinate with schools, teachers, and school counselors to ensure your child receives consistent support across all environments. This collaboration helps create a comprehensive support system that addresses challenges wherever they occur.

Virtual and in-person options: We offer both in-person and telehealth appointments for children and adolescents. Some young people feel more comfortable in the privacy of their home environment, while others benefit from the structure of coming to our office. We'll work with your family to determine what works best.

Getting started: If you're concerned about your child's mental health, behavioral changes, or emotional wellbeing, we're here to help. Call 813-384-4000 to schedule an initial assessment. During this meeting, we'll talk with you and your child to understand what's happening and create a treatment plan that supports their unique needs.

What to Expect from Outpatient Mental Health Treatment

Starting therapy can feel uncertain. You might be wondering: What actually happens in a therapy session? How long will treatment take? Will this really help? Here's what you can expect when you choose Ibis Healthcare for your mental health care:

Your First Appointment: Your journey begins with a comprehensive assessment where we get to know you, understand your concerns, and learn about your goals for treatment. This is just a conversation. We'll ask about what brought you to therapy, your current symptoms, your history, and what you hope to achieve.

Choose what works for you: Initial assessments can be completed in-person at any of our three locations or virtually via telehealth, whichever is most convenient and comfortable for you.

Based on this assessment, we'll determine which services are best suited to your needs. You may be recommended to start with therapy, see a psychiatrist for medication evaluation, connect with Primary Care Services for physical health concerns that impact mental wellness, or explore substance use treatment options if addiction is part of your story. This personalized approach ensures you receive the right care from the start.

Building Your Treatment Plan: Based on your assessment, we'll work with you to develop a treatment plan that outlines your goals, the types of services that will help you achieve them, and how we'll measure progress along the way. This plan is collaborative you have a voice in every decision about your care.

Ongoing Therapy: Most people attend therapy sessions weekly or biweekly, though frequency varies based on individual needs. Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes and provide dedicated time and space to work on your mental health.

Flexible appointment options: Therapy sessions and appointments with psychiatric providers can be conducted in-person at any of our three locations or virtually via telehealth. Choose the format that works best for your schedule, comfort level, and needs and you can switch between in-person and virtual as your situation changes.

Your therapist will help you explore challenges, develop coping strategies, process difficult emotions, and work toward your goals at a pace that feels right for you.

Integrated Care: Because we offer both therapy and psychiatric services in one location, your care team can coordinate seamlessly. Your therapist and psychiatrist (if you're seeing both) work together to ensure your treatment is comprehensive and effective. This integrated approach extends to our Primary Care Services, allowing us to address both your physical and mental health needs in one coordinated system. This collaboration leads to better results because everyone involved in your care is on the same page.

Measuring Progress: Healing isn't always linear, but we'll work with you to track progress toward your goals. Regular check-ins help us assess what's working, what needs adjustment, and how you're feeling about treatment. If something isn't helping, we'll change course together.

Flexibility and Support: Life happens. We understand that appointments may need to be rescheduled, that progress can feel slow sometimes, and that setbacks occur. Our team is here to support you through all of the breakthroughs and the difficult moments alike.
